経済・公共政策プログラム

Program in Economic and Public Policy (PEPP) is a program taught in English, offering an MA in International Public Policy. The program aims to provide training and the necessary skills for the conception, design, analysis, and implementation of public policies. Our faculty members are experts in applying economics to public policy using cutting-edge knowledge of big data analysis, econometrics and statistics. Faculty members of PEPP work on a variety of issues of economics, development and public policy, including economic growth, poverty reduction, health economics, agricultural economics, education, international trade, taxation, and environmental issues in developing countries. We endeavor to contribute to the creation of an international community of highly trained professionals addressing the daily challenges of economic and social development.

There are two systems available to apply to PEPP:

WB/ADB Scholarship admission is for those who wish to also apply for a scholarship from the Asian Development Bank or the World Bank at the time of application.

General admission is for all other applicants who may be self-funded, or who have obtained a scholarship from the Japanese government (MEXT scholarship), JICA, or any other organization.

The academic program is the same for students who enter via the Scholarship admission and General admission, the only difference being the source of funding.

JDS公共政策特別プログラム

This program aims to contribute to the betterment of young public officials from Asian countries in the field of public policy. The program is designed for recipients of the “Japanese Grant Aid for Human Resource Development Scholarship (JDS)” offered by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the “Japan Human Resource Development Scholarship for Chinese Young Leaders (JDS China)” offered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The program starts in the fall semester(October) and is designed to enable students to obtain a Master of Arts in International Public Policy in 18 months.

日本・ユーラシア研究プログラム

This program is designed for training people who can solve various problems and issues related to sustainable development in Central Asian states. This is a graduate program offering students from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and Azerbaijan an MA degree in 18 months. It is supported by the Nippon Foundation Central Asia Fellowship. Those applicants who demonstrate outstanding abilities will be awarded full scholarships from the Nippon Foundation (up to 10 scholarships per year).
